Beginning sign language class
will begin March 16 at the Jim-
my Prentis Morris Jewish Com-
munity Center. Join other adults
to learn this effective means of
communicating with individuals
who have a profound hearing
loss. This 10-week class will meet
Thursdays from 7-8:15 p.m. Call
9674030 for cost and registration
information.
T'ai Chi classes will begin for
adults of all ages Tuesday, March
14, at 6 p.m. and Thursday,
March 16, at 11 a.m. This hour-
long class of movement and med-
itation will be taught by martial
arts certified instructor, John
Zilli, who holds a 2nd degree
black belt. Comfortable clothes
and gym shoes are a must. Call
Sports and Fitness, 967-4030, for
further information as to cost and
registration.

The Religious and Cultural Com-
mittee of the Hechtman Jewish
Federation Apartments Inc., will
host a series of programs which
encompasses a wide range of re-
ligious subjects. For information,
contact JFA, 661-5220, Marsha
Schavrien.
One program will be Tuesday,
Feb. 21, at 2:30 and will be pre-
sented by Stacie Fine of the Bir-
mingham Temple. She will speak
on "Introdcution to Humanistic Ju-
daism" and will play the guitar and
sing Hebrew and Yiddish songs.
Another program will be Mon-
day, Feb. 27, at 2 p.m. and will be
presented by Rabbi Elliot Pachter
of Congregation B'nai Moshe.
Rabbi Pachter will speak on
"Jewish Obligations Between
Parents and Children."

Shalom. Rabbi Nelson will speak
on "The Answer To Your
Prayers."
The program on Monday,
March 20, at 3 p.m. will be pre-
sented by Rabbi Ernst Conrad of
Temple Kol Ami, who will ad-
dress the topic "Archaeology of
Purim."
The program on Tuesday,
April 11, at 2 p.m. will be pre-
sented by Rabbi Amy Brodsky
of Temple Emanu-El. Rabbi
Brodsky will address the topic
"Passover."
The last program will be Mon-
day, April 17, at 2:30 and will
be presented by Rabbi Greta
Bernard Brown, educator of
Judaic studies in New York City.
Her topic will be "Women in
Judaism."

Melitz Lecture
In Flint

The Flint Jewish Federation and
Jewish Community Relations
Committee will host a Melitz Vis-
iting Scholar Lecture. Daniel
Rossing will speak February 28
at Temple Beth El, 501 S. Bal-
lenger, at 7:30 p.m. His topic will
be "Israel — Vatican Relations:
The Implications for the Future."
Daniel Rossing is the director of
the Melitz Center for Christian En-
counter with Israel. He is active in
interfaith circles in Jerusalem and
has published numerous articles
on the Christian minorities in Is-
rael and the Middle East, and on
interfaith relations.
Melitz is a non-profit educa-
tional service institution that
aims to revitalize the relation-
ship between Israel and the Dia-
spora, creating a constructive
and realistic understanding of
both.
