cepted from college students by
the Harry and Sarah Laker Is-
rael Youth Scholarship fund for
an academic year's study in Is-
rael.
A $2,500 cash award will be
given to the winning student
who can select from the follow-
ing outstanding universities for
his or her study: Bar-Ilan, Haifa,
Tel Aviv, Ben-Gurion or Hebrew
University.
To qualify, the applicant must
be a resident of the metropoli-
tan Detroit area, currently at-
tending a college or university
in the United States, and must
have applied to a school of high-
er learning in Israel.
Applicants for the scholar-
ship, which is co-sponsored by
the Harry and Sarah Laker Is-
rael Scholarship Fund and Con-
gregation Beth Achim, are now

Larry King
TV and radio personality Larry
King will speak on behalf of the
1995 Allied Jewish Campaign
March 12 at 7:30 p.m. in Adat
Shalom Synagogue.
Mr. King will share some of
the situations he has experienced
during his career, which spans
three decades. His informal man-
ner and anecdotal account of his
30,000 interviews of politicians,
sports figures and movie stars
will be shared, as will his child-
hood memories of his boyhood in
Philadelphia.
Mr. King has been the recipi-
ent of numerous broadcasting
awards, including nine Cable
ACE Awards, the cable indus-
try's highest honor. Mr. King is
also the author of eight books
based on his broadcasting career.
