Hebrew Talk
Given By Consul

Ron Singer, Consul of the State
\ of Israel to New York, will speak
;" about his experiences at the Is-
raeli embassy in Moscow in a
discussion entirely in Hebrew 8
p.m. June 8 at the Jimmy Pren-
tis Morris Jewish Community
Center.
The program is a pilot session
of "Ivrit Betzavata," a tentatively-
planned series of quality presen-
tations in Hebrew for Hebrew
speakers.
Mr. Singer, who was born in
Chernovitz, Ukraine, served as a
counselor at the reopened Israeli
embassy in Moscow, where he
was the Prime Minister's repre-
sentative in reestablishing diplo-
matic relations between Israel
and the former Soviet republics.
He also represented the Israeli
government to the Jewish pop-
ulation of the former USSR and
coordinated the last wave of
aliyah.
Mr. Singer has served as a
board member of the Israeli Fund
for Culture and Education in the
Diaspora, "Azriel" Fellowship and
the Aliyah Library. He also was
a part of the editorial teams of the
television shows and documen-
taries "Ariel," "Israel 2000,"
"News from Jerusalem and "Per-
spectives from Israel."

The Teacher's Resource Center,
located at the Agency for Jewish
Education in Southfield, will have
new hours for the summer.
Beginning June 20, the TRC
will be open Mondays and
Wednesdays, 10 am.-1 p.m. or by
appointment. TRC director
Raquel Pomerantz Gershon also
is available for consultation.
The Teachers Resource Cen-
ter will be closed July 4-17 and
