The program is a pilot session of "Ivrit Betzavata," a tentatively- planned series of quality presen- tations in Hebrew for Hebrew speakers. Mr. Singer, who was born in Chernovitz, Ukraine, served as a counselor at the reopened Israeli embassy in Moscow, where he was the Prime Minister's repre- sentative in reestablishing diplo- matic relations between Israel and the former Soviet republics. He also represented the Israeli government to the Jewish pop- ulation of the former USSR and coordinated the last wave of aliyah. Mr. Singer has served as a board member of the Israeli Fund for Culture and Education in the Diaspora, "Azriel" Fellowship and the Aliyah Library. He also was a part of the editorial teams of the television shows and documen- taries "Ariel," "Israel 2000," "News from Jerusalem and "Per- spectives from Israel."
