As part of Sinai Hospital's compre-
hensive approach to cancer treatment,
Sinai and the Jewish Community
Center—West Bloomfield are co-spon-
soring a free class to cancer patients
on stress reduction through yoga.
Yoga is an ideal vehicle for exercise
and stress reduction and is widely
used by many people with chronic ill-
ness. The class will be taught by a cer-
tified yoga instructor who is also a
breast cancer survivor.

Sinai
Health Care
Foundation
I
n its third year of op-
eration, the Sinai
Health Care Founda-
tion reaches thousands
of contributors in the
metropolitan area who
wish to support Sinai
Hospital's tradition of
medical excellence.
The Foundation rais-
es and administers
funds to meet the
healthcare needs of the
community. Thanks to
many generous donors,
the Foundation is meet-
ing its mission of pro-
viding continued sup-
port to Michigan's only
Jewish-sponsored hos-
pital. Bruce Gershenson
chairs the Foundation's
Board of Trustees.
Among the Founda-
tion's efforts are:
Sponsors Club. Begun
in 1993, this annual
membership
drive
raised more than
$17,000 from 340 donors
last year. All $50 mem-
bership gifts are listed
in the quarterly Foun-
dation Features.
Founding 500. This
special campaign raised
$220,000 from 440
donors, each of-whom
contributed a minimum
of $500. Their names
are listed on the Found-
ing 500 Wall of Honor in
the Hospital's Outer
Drive lobby.
Heritage Ball. The an-
nual Heritage Ball rais-
es funds for a particular
area of service. The 1993
Ball drew 700 atten
dees, who contributed
$400,000 in support of
Sinai's Cardiology sec-
tion. The 1994 Ball will
be held this coming Oc-
tober.
Endowment Funds.

opportunities for those
who wish to provide
permanent funding for
specific services or facil-
ities. Endowment gifts
may also be made in
conjunction with the
