Dr. Henri and Anaruth
Bernard are pleased to an-
nounce the engagement of their
daughter, Miryam Aviva, to
Daniel Henry Serlin, son of
Howard and Nancy Serlin
Miryam attended the Jewish.
Theological Seminary and Co-
lumbia University Joint Pro-

gram and will graduate from
the University of Michigan in
April. She will pursue graduate
studies in social work.
Dan will graduate with hon-
ors from the University of
Michigan in April. He will at-
tend law school.
A June wedding is planned.

Devorah is a graduate of
McGill University with a bach-
elor of arts in Judaic studies
and a graduate of Columbia
University and the Jewish The-
ological Seminary with a dou-
ble master of arts in social work
and Jewish studies. Devorah is

employed by the Jewish Fed-
eration of Metropolitan Detroit
as a senior planning associate.
Reuben is a graduate of
Brandeis University with a
bachelor of arts in Judaic stud-
ies and a double master of arts
in human services manage-
ment and Jewish communal
service. Reuben is employed by
Jewish Family Service as the
director of community resource
development.
A June wedding is planned
in Hamilton, Ontario.
