Midrasha Offers
3 Adult Series
The Midrasha Center for Adult
Jewish Learning is offering
three adult Jewish learning
series in advance of the holiday
of Passover.
The programs will take place
at Midrasha, in the Agency for
Jewish Education building,
Southfield. There is a charge,
and advance registration is
recommended.
On March 8 and 15, from
7:30 to 8:30 p.m., Midrasha
Scholar-in-Residence Rabbi Rod
Glogower will teach "Inside the
Rabbinic Mind: Passover In-
sights." He will explore various
genres of rabbinic literature,
including Talmud, midrash,
codes, commentaries, and re-
sponsa, with the focus on
Passover themes. Each session
can be attended independently.
On March 7 and 14, from
7:30 to 9 p.m., community edu-
cator Susann. Codish will lead
a series titled, "Songs of Free-
dom: Exodus Themes in the
Book of Psalms." She will ex-
amine the ways in which the
Book of Psalms celebrates the
exodus from Egypt. Texts will
be presented in Hebrew and
English.
Rabbi Ahron Davidson will
lead a two-part study series
titled, "A Walk Through the
Passover Haggadah," 7:30-9
p.m. March 10 and 17. He will
analyze key sections of the
Passover Haggadah to help
adults tell the. Exodus story at
their sedarim. No knowledge of
Hebrew is necessary.

To Lead Forum
A community-wide forum on
Holocaust denial as the newest
form of anti-Semitism will be
presented 8 p.m. March 14 at
the Maple-Drake Jewish Corn- ,
munity Center.
Sponsored by the Holocaust
Memorial Center and the
American Jewish Committee,
the program will feature Dr.
Raul Hilberg, member of the
U.S. Holocaust Memorial Coun-
cil and author of The Destruc-
tion of the European Jews.
There is no charge for this pro-
gram.
The public is invited to walk
through the Holocaust Memo-
rial Center until 8 p.m. and
group tours accom eanied by
docents may be scheduled by
calling the HMC, 661-0840.
A special 4 p.m. session for
educators with Dr. Hilberg will
focus on Holocaust education is-
sues.

New Workshop
Jewish Family Service will of-
fer a new session of its work-
shop "Kaddushin is for Keeps:
Making Marriage Work," be-
ginning March 15 from 7-9 p.m.
for couples who are engaged
and/or recently married. This
seven-week workshop focuses
on communication, negotiation,
families and sex.
Five of the sessions are led by
a certified marriage counselor.
One session is led by a financial
planner and the final session is
led by a rabbi who addresses
the Jewish aspects of married
life.
Pre-registration is required
and there is a fee for participa-
tion. The workshop has been
endorsed by the Michigan
Board of Rabbis. For registra-

CHaZaKaH
Has Luncheon
CHaZaKaH, the Adat Shalom
senior group, has rescheduled
its paid-up membership lun-
cheon to March 17.
The 12:30 p.m. program will
feature the Balladeers, a musi-
cal trio with Irma Pasick, Lois
Moore and Marilyn Ruskin. Ac-
companied by Zelda Miller, the
group will present songs of
Jerome Kern, George Gersh-
win, and Irving Berlin, as well
as a selection of popular Jewish
melodies.
Thee is no charge for this
event, but one must be a paid-
up CHaZaKaH member in or-
der to attend. Reservations by
March 11 are mandatory.
CHaZaKaH welcomes all new
members at a nominal annual
fee.

print for thinking' will be pre-
sented.
At 1 p.m. March 8, in Jaffe
Hall Hy Shenkman, a three-
time gold medalist in the senior
Maccabi Games in Israel, will
show a film and then speak of
his experiences in the games.
