CLASS OF 1942

When the Detroit Central
High School Class of 1942
held their 50th reunion last
year, Avern Cohn, Bert

Gordon, Gerald Krause,
Mel Ravitz, Dick Sloan
and Peggy Winkelman

discussed the idea of raising
money for the current and
future students of Detroit.
"In reminiscing about our
high school days at Central,
we realized what a profound
influence attending this
school had on our lives in the
years following our gradua-
tion," said Gerald Krause.
Judge Cohn wrote a
letter to the school inform-
ing them of the fund-raising
efforts. Herb Benson, Ar-

thur Danto, Delores
Farber, Leo Litwak,
Milton Lucow, Ruth
Miller, Ruth Moss, Sylvia
Raven and Willie Stone

also were involved.
On May 25, the class of
1942 donated a $6,800 check
to the Detroit Board of Edu-
cation fo• the students at
Central. Any members of the
Central High School class of
1942 who want to contribute
to this fund should contact
Bert Gordon at (313) 932-
