Jewish News, a community

newspaper then published
biweekly, from their longtime
friend and the newspaper's
founder, M.B. Goldman Jr.
Mrs. Newmark served as
editor alongside her husband.
Following his retirement as
publisher, Mr. Newmark sold
advertising for the paper
part-time until 1986, the year
he turned 80.
The Newmarks were
honored by Jewish Family
and Children's Service and by
the Phoenix Chapter of
Hadassah for their years of
service to the community.
Mr. Newmark was a
founder of the Jewish Com-
munity Center and a member
of the Zionist Organization of
America, B'nai B'rith, Beth
El Congregation and the
Arizona Jewish Historical
Society.

Herbert Rosen

Herbert Rosen, 74, of
Southfield, died May 24. Mr.
Rosen was founder and
owner of H. Rosen Scrap
Metal. He was a founding
member of Congregation
Beth Achim, board member
of the Hebrew Benevolent
Society and former treasur-
er of the Greater Detroit
Scrap Trade Association. He
was a mason affiliated with
Perfection Mosaic F & AM.
He is survived by his wife,
Gertrude; son and daughter-
in-law, Dr. Robert and
Laurie of Evanston, Ill.;
daughters and son-in-law,
Tina and Alan Pinter of
West Bloomfield, Marcy J.
of Southfield; sister and
brother-in-law, Ruth and
Val Richardson of Farming-
ton Hills; five grandchil-
dren.

Max Klein

Max Sam Klein, 77, of West
Bloomfield, died May 20.
Mr. Klein, a graduate
chemist, got his training by
running a garage and work-
ing at General Motors. He
then bought the Palmer
Paint Company and sold
paint to artist supply hous-
es. He later made and sold
paint-it-yourself figurine
kits which led to the inven-
tion by Mr. Klein of the
paint-by-number pictures.
Mr. Klein then went into
the plastics business and
developed a firm that manu-
factures and markets a
broad line of plastic house-
ware products and ranks
among the five biggest such
companies in the United
States.

He leaves his wife, Amy;
daughter and son-in-law,
Jacquelyne and Carl
Schiffman of Brooklyn,
N.Y.; son, Dr. Robert of
Santa Barbara, Calif.; sister
and brother-in-law, Minnie
and Edwin Mallinson of
Southfield; three grandchil-
dren.

Michael Feller

Michael H. Feiler, 53, of
Farmington Hills, died May
22. Mr. Feiler, an attorney,
was a member of the State
Bar of Michigan, American
Bar Association and the
Oakland Bar Association.
He served as consultant and
legal counsel in many prob-
lems concerning land use
controls. He spoke before
the Michigan Municipal
Attorneys Association on
environmental protection
and land use questions. Mr.
Feiler had been a faculty
member at the Institute of
Continuing Legal Educa-
tion. He was the co-author
of the published treatise
"Michigan Municipal Law."
He leaves his wife, Janis;
sons, Matthew and Eric,
Joseph Dallacqua; daugh-
ter, Ariana; mother, Bea;
sisters, Marsha Silverman
and Carol Pearlman.

George Seyburn

George Seyburn, 82, of
Southfield, died May 23. Mr.
Seyburn was a builder,
property manager and part-
ner in Seyburn and Berry,
former owners of the Fisher
Building, David Stott
Building and hotels all over
the country. He was promi-
nent in the development
and building of the
Somerset Inn complex in
Troy.
He leaves his wife,
Florence; daughters and
son-in-law, Barbara Kaye of
Atlanta, Joan and Lloyd
Adelson of West Bloomfield;
son and daughter-in-law,
Bruce and Denise; brother
and sister-in-law, Sam and
Elizabeth of West
Bloomfield; sisters, Lillian
Rose, Matilda Golditch,
Helen Karo, Harriet Swartz;
10 grandchildren; one great-
grandson.

CORRECTION

The May 21 obituary of
Margaret Newman omit-
ted the names of her
daughter and son-in-law,
Joan and Neil Satovsky
of West Bloomfield.
