Meadow Brook Sets
First Annual Art Fair

Meadow Brook Art Gal-
lery's first annual art fair will
be June 20-21 on the grounds
of Oakland University.
This art fair will include
ceramics, glass, jewelry, pain-
ting and sculpture by over 80
juried artists from around the
state and country.
Shoppers can stroll through
a gallery pavilion featuring
the work of invited Michigan
artists in an open-air art ex-
hibition or picnic in the
casual atmosphere of the roll-
ing meadows adjacent to the
Meadow Brook Hall and
Music Festival.
Children can show off their
talents in the children's ac-
tivity area where materials
and artistic guidance will be
provided.
Funds raised by the fair will
benefit Meadow Brook Art
Gallery.
Admission to the fair,
pavilion and children's activi-
ty area is free. Hours are
Saturday and Sunday 10
a.m.-6 p.m.

Cantor Najman
Sings At Opening

Cantor Chaim Najman of
Congregation Shaarey Zedek
will be the featured artist at
a solo recital which will pay
tribute to the memory of the
late Janice Charach Epstein,
4 p.m. June 21 at the Janice
Charach Epstein Gallery in
the Maple-Drake Jewish
Community Center. The
musical tribute also will
mark the opening of a new ex-
hibit at the gallery titled
"The Janice Charach Epstein
Retrospective."
Cantor Najman will be ac-
companied by pianist Fedora
Horowitz in a program that
will include selections by
Handel, Scarlatti, Schubert,
Schumann, Gold, Chajes,
Lavri and Schonberg.
Admission to both the con-
cert and exhibit is free. An
afterglow will be held im-
mediately following.
