Agencies Plan
Job Workshop

"My Job/My Self: Keeping
It All Together While
Unemployed and Learning
Job Seeking Skills' is a series
of free workshops sponsored
by the Jewish Family Service
_ and Jewish Vocational Ser-
vice. Both agencies will corn-
bine their areas of expertise
to offer a workshop that will
focus on the whole person at
a time of job loss by offering
concrete skills and emotional
support.
° There will be an informa-
tion meeting to discuss this
program 1 p.m.-3 p.m. May 11,
at Jewish Vocational Service,
29699 Southfield Road,
Southfield. The workshops
will be conducted in four ses-
sions May 13-14 and May
20-21 at 14:30 p.m. at Jewish
Vocational Service.
The workshop sessions are
intended for people with a
strong work history in the
professional, technical and
managerial fields.
The workshop series will be
conducted by Rosemary Doyle
and Marilyn Hertzberg. Ms.
Doyle, supervisor of the
Career Development Services
at Jewish Vocational Service
has 14 years of experience in
the vocational field. Marilyn
Pilertzberg, clinical social
worker at Jewish Family Ser-
vice for 18 years, has worked
with people during a time of
change and loss.

Judge And Eliases

Judge Avern Cohn, Fred
and Louis Elias are being
—honored by the American
Arabic and Jewish Friends
for their contributions to
building bridges in the
southeastern Michigan com-
munity 5 p.m. May 3.
The event, at Shenandoah
Country Club, raises funds for
the scholarship awards given
to high school seniors for win-
ning essays on "What it
means to be an American of
Jewish or Arabic descent!'
The dinner will feature
Jewish and Arabic musical
entertainment. Dinner co-
chairmen are Arnold Michlin
and Woodrow Woody.

The Helping Hand Drive
For New Arrivals

Can you imagine trying to pack your life into two suitcases?
Russian families arrive in our community with 2 pieces of luggage per person.

You can help provide our new Americans with basic living needs —
join the Social Action Committee of your synagogue or temple.

From February through June, the Helping Hand Drive For New
Arrivals will be collecting items for the new Americans. To make it
even easier for you to help, each participating synagogue and temple
will be a collection point for donated items.

Camp Clothes
