Seminar for new Americans
7:30 p.m. April 5 at the Jim-
my Prentis Morris Jewish
Community Center.
Professor Semyon Meerkov
will be the speaker. His topic
will be "Passover, The
Festival of Freedom; Freedom
From What?" Professor
Meerkov, an emigre from
Russia, is a professor of com-
puter science at the Universi-
ty of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
The practical aspects of
Passover will be discussed by
Adel Kozadayev. Her topic
will be "To Eat or Not To Eat
— Is It Kosher for Passover.?"
Newly-arrived families will
be presented with a holiday
gift package. A Passover video
with Russian sub-titles will
be shown and holiday recipes
will be distributed to
everyone.
New Americans with a pro-
ficiency in English are invited
to weekly lectures and discus-
sions held 8:30 p.m. Wednes-
day evenings at the F.R.E.E.
Center, 15226 North-
gate.
Dr. David Kagan will dis-
cuss Maimonides' approach to
the education crisis in a two-
part series.

Preheat oven to 300 F. Line bottom of a 9-inch greased springform pan with waxed
paper; grease paper. With a mixer, beat together sugar and margarine until fluffy. blend
in egg yolks. In a food processor, process almonds and chocolate until finely ground. Stir
into sugar mixture. In a separate bowl, beat egg whites to stiff peaks. Mix 1/3 of whites
into batter. Gently fold in remaining whites. Spread batter into prepared pan, smoothing
the top. sake 1 hour and 25 to 30 minutes (or until top springs back when touched with
finger). Cool cake for 10 minutes before releasing springform. Invert cake, remove paper

and cool completely. Makes 16 servings.

..-.Strawberry Sauce:* Thaw and puree 2 cups unsweetened frozen strawberries. Ina small

'ucepani .cOrribine puree and 1 cup Domino' Granulated Sugar; simmer 3 minutes.
