"Can the State Take a Life:
Exploring the Rabbinic At-
titude Toward Capital
Punishment in the Talmud
and Jewish Law.'
Rabbi Rod Glogower,
teacher and rabbinic scholar,
will present this topic
through the study of the text
of the Talmud and other rab-
binic sources.
Rabbi Glogower is an ad-
junct lecturer of the Univer-
sity of Michigan School of
Law, rabbinic adviser for
B'nai B'rith Hillel Founda-
tion at Ann Arbor and lec-
turer at the Midrasha-College
of Jewish Studies.
The charge includes dinner.

dience will hear a Chanukah
special featuring the Klezmer
Conservatory Band 7 p.m.
Dec. 2.
The special will be hosted
by Marian Stolar and will in-
clude old Jewish melodies,
ragtime, folk music and Dix-
ieland jazz recorded at the
concert presented by the
University Musical Society at
Hill Auditorium in 1990.
Michigan Radio, a listener-
supported broadcast service of

WUOM, 91.7 FM, in Grand
Rapids on WVGR, 194.1 FM,
