The Julius Chajes Concert
Series will launch its 1991-92
season with a recital by -
pianist Rina Dokshinsky 3
p.m. Oct. 6 at the Maple-
Drake Jewish Community
Center.
This year, the chamber
music concerts comprising
the "Sunday Salon Series"
will be held in the newly-
opened Janice Charach Eps-
tein Museum/Gallery at the
Maple-Drake building. This
series is designed to accom-
pany and complement the ex-
hibitions held in the exhibi-
tion space.
Ms. Dokshinsky, a native of
Israel, will perform works by
Mozart, Beethoven, Liszt and
Chajes.
A pre-concert guided tour of
the "Portraits" exhibit will be
provided for concert-goers at
2:30 p.m. The concert is open
to the public. There is a
charge. For ticket informa-
tion, call 661-1000, Ext. 352.

The Folktown Coffeehouse
of Southfield will present
Catherine Hall and Mark
Dvorak 8 p.m. Sept. 21 in the
Marcotte Room at Southfield
Civic Center.
Catherine is known for her
interpretations of traditional
folk songs and ballads from
Ireland, the British Isles and
North America. She plays
Irish tunes on flute and tin
whistle and accompanies her
singing on lap dulcimer and
guitar.
Mark performs in the tradi-
tion of Woody Guthrie, with
folk ballads and blues.
There is a charge. Folktown
is co-sponsored by the
Southfield Parks and Recrea-
tion Department with the
cooperation of the Southfield
Public Library. Tickets to all
Folktown Concerts will be
available in advance via
Ticketmaster at 645-6666 or
at the door until sold out.
