Readers Theater
Opens Fifth Season

Readers Theater of the
Jewish Community Center
will begin its fifth season 3:30
p.m. Sept. 22 at the Aaron
DeRoy Theatre in the Maple-
Drake building. This perfor-
mance will feature stories by
Matt Nesvisky, Leslea
Newman, Serge Lieberman
and Detroit author Todd Hoff-
man. Actors will include Mr.
Hoffman reading his own
story, Elizabeth Elkin Weiss,
Rube Weiss and Paul Winter.
All performances will be
preceded by a complimentary
wine bar at 3 p.m. For ticket

performance of this series will
be Nov. 24.

JET Seeks
Young Actors

The Jewish Ensemble
Theatre is looking for four
young actors for its December
presentation, First is Supper
by Shelley Berman.
Director Evelyn Orbach,
JET's artistic director, will
audition young actors 4-7 p.m.
Sept. 26 at the DeRoy Theatre
in the Maple-Drake Jewish
Community Center. Aspiring
cast members should be
prepared to read from the
script and do some
improvisation.

The West Bloomfield Town-

several children's programs.
WXYZ-TV/Channel 7 will
sponsor a program for ages 4
to 8. Mary Conway will read
stories, and Ming the
Magnificent will entertain
with magic at the Main
Library only — Oct. 2,
6:30-7:30 p.m.
Lap-Sit Storytime will in-
troduce stories, rhymes, and
fingerplays to babies ages 6
months to 24 months atten-
ding with an adult. One adult
per child. No siblings, please.

Tot Plus One is a storytime
