Hatikvah Singles
Mission To Israel
An information meeting
about the July 7-18 Hatikvah
National Singles Mission to
Israel will take place 7:30
p.m. May 22 in the home of
Robert Colburn.
Mission participants will
meet representatives of the
Israel Defense Force, kibbutz-
niks and government of-
ficials; visit Detroit's Project
Renewal sister city of Yavne,
Yad Vashem, Old Jaffa and an
underwater observatory and
participate in an ar-
cheological dig.
Sponsored nationally by the
United Jewish Appeal and
locally by the Jewish Welfare
Federation, the mission will
bring together singles from
the U.S. and Israel for social
and travel opportunities.
Cost of the mission includes
accommodations at five-star
hotels, round-trip airfare from
New Yoik and most meals.

DR. ELI M. BROWN, chair-
man, department of anesthe-
siology, Sinai Hospital, is the
winner of the William 0.
McQuiston, M.D. Award,
which is presented annually
to an anesthesiologist with a
national education who has
made significant contribu-
tions to the practice of anes-
thesiology. The first physician
from the state of Michigan to
receive this honor, Dr. Brown
was selected from a group of
anesthesiologists for the
award. The honor is spon-
sored by the Illinois Society of
Anesthesiologists.
SAM BROWN, former
Michigan Regional Director
of the American Jewish Con-
gress, of Deerfield Beach,
Fla., was inaugurated as a
member of the Oxford Socie-
ty, former students at Oxford
University, England.

ington High School were
honored for their volunteer
service to the community by
the Farmington Youth
Assistance.
JONATHAN BRATEMAN
served as national co-

ference for State of Israel
Bonds, held recently in
Washington, D.C. More than
150 young Jewish leaders
from 20 cities throughout the
U.S. and Canada, including
Mr. Brateman's brother, Dr.
Robert Brateman, attended.

Edelheit of West Bloomfield,
graduated with honors from
the University of -Michigan
dental school; he also receiv-
ed a dental academic achieve-
