Ralph Miller is chairman and
Peter Perlman co-chairman of
the BB Golf Classic event,
with proceeds going to benefit
youth and service programs of
B'nai B'rith . . . Last year's
tourney raised about $30,000.

"BROADWAY
LULLABY" featuring Nancy

Gurwin and company plus
Max Sosin as master of
ceremonies combines a couple
of big favorites among
community-ites . . . The
togetherness "first" by Nan-
cy and Max should be a lot of
fun.
It's being presented May 16,
7:30 p.m., at Congregation
Beth Achim on W. 12 Mile,
with Michael Goodman coor-
dinator . . . by City of Hope
Greater Detroit Mr. & Mrs.
Group.
The show takes folks on a
musical journey of great
Broadway hits like Fiddler

On the Roof South Pacific,
Guys & Dolls, Funny Girl,
Anything Goes, Gypsy, Les
Miserables, West Side Story

and others.
For $5 tickets, call the
Greater Detroit Mr. & Mrs.
Group City of Hope office,
552-1140.
PAUL HARR, son of
Frances and the late Nate
Adoff, will be sworn in to the
U.S. Supreme Court bar May
28 . . . He is past-president of
the Washington Foreign Law
Society and currently serves
on the steering committee of
the District of Columbia Bar
international law section.
KEY LARGO Restaurant
on Walled Lake Road, was
recently voted "Best of the
The Great Outdoors" by
Detroit Monthly magazine
and AAA's Michigan Living
magazine . . . Its outside deck
is a warm-weather beauty .. .
Craig Cassady is Key Largo's
highly competent manager.
KAREN GREEN, winner
of the 1991 Class C state rac-
quetball championship, is
also a music teacher at Or-
chard Lake Middle School in
West Bloomfield . . . She has
played racquetball com-
petitively only nine months.

HEALTH-CONSCIOUS

diners . . . and statistics show
that more and more
Americans are becoming in-
creasingly concerned and
cautious with their diets .. .
can look to Bouquets at the
Radisson Plaza Hotel at Town
Center in Southfield . . . It
has created a special Sunday
brunch menu . . . In each en-
tree and dessert, fat is
minimized and appetizers
average only 4.6 grams. . . .
The new menu also provides
complete nutritional informa-
tion including calories, fat,
cholesterol, sodium and car-
bohydrate contents.

DISA 'N DATA . . . It's
scary thinking of people at
self-service stations getting
gas on hands or clothes and
lighting a cigarette after
entering their car . . . Sure
would like to see some super-
market do a bit on giving
folks something if they bring
back their shopping carts in-
stead of leaving them in the
parking lot to bang up
fenders or take up space .. .
With so many women wear-
ing slacks (it's amazing how
some of the gals can even get
into them), wonder if men
will ever wear skirts? . . .
Wouldn't be a bad idea if some
charitable groups discover the
good talent hereabouts in-
stead of getting it from out-of-
town . . . Wouldn't you like to
see the day when some people
stop making pigs of
themselves by stuffing boxes
of goodies from sweet tables
at weddings and bar mitz-
vahs? .. .
Wish a lot of gas station
employees who think they're
mechanics would stick to
pumping gas . . . and wives
who say they can read their
husbands like a book, skip
what they don't like instead
of going over and over it .. .
and so many motorists have
their horn toy taken away
from them .. .
Would be nice if someone
devised something for people
to look at in elevators instead
of the passing floor numbers
above . . . and some sales-
ladies in dress shops would
stop saying, "But madam,
looking ridiculous is the
fashion nowadays . . . and of
course, bakery gals learning
somethings besides, "What
else?"

FATHER-TO-BE phones
the hospital and yelps, "Send
an ambulance! My wife is go-
ing into labor! . . . The
operator tells him, "Calm
down, is this her first baby?"
. . . The fellow says, in a panic,
"No. This is her husband!"
CORN DEPT . . . from
Percy Kaplan . . . who says, "A
cannibal is a person fed up on
people."

LOOKING BACK On Col-
ulmns Of Yesteryears .. .
JUNE 6, 1975 . . . "Tucked
in his bed, little Ronnie
Kovan, 6-year-old son of
Muriel and Sam Kovan, was
up when mom came into the
room to kiss him goodnight,
wearing a revealing off-the-
shoulder cocktail dress . . . He
asked where she was going all
dressed up, and Muriel
replied that she and daddy
were going to a wedding
reception . . . 'But, gee, mom-
my, said little Ronny, 'ain't ya'
scared somebody might see
you?' "O
