All the following Young
Judaea Camps focus on a
Jewish education, and try
to promote an understan-
ding and commitment to
Israel and the Zionist Move-

Ben G. Barnett Camp
Young Judaea, located in
Wimberley, Texas, about one
hour from Austin, is situated
on 250 acres in the Texas hill
country. Open to boys and
girls ages 7-14, one four-week
session, and one one-week
session for children entering
grades 2 and 3, is offered.
Teaching Jewish heritage is
one of the camp's goals, and a
Judaic program along with
water sports, hiking, fishing,
canoeing, overnight campouts
and Israeli folk dancing are
offered. The meals are kosher.
Tuition is $335 for one week
and $1275 for four weeks.

Camp Judaea, nestled in
the Blue Ridge Mountains in
North Carolina, observes the
laws of kashrut, celebrates
Sabbath and holds morning
prayer services. Open to boys
and girls ages 8-16 two four-
week sessions are offered dur-
ing the summer.
Horseback riding, boating,
swimming, computers, and
nature are featured, and the
meals are kosher. Campers
entering the 8th grade can
take a field trip to New York
City and trace their ancestral
Jewish roots.
Tuition is $1325 per ses-
sion. The camp is accredited
by the American Camping
Association.

Camp Tel Yehudah, which
is located in Barryville, New
York, is open to high school
boys and girls ages 13-18
years old, who are members of
the Young Judaea/Hashachar
Zionist Youth Movement.
With an emphasis on Jewish
identity and culture, the
camp focuses on Israeli sing-
ing, dancing, arts and crafts
and sports. Swimming, canoe-
ing, soccer, basketball, rafting
and drama are a part of the
program.
Two four-week sessions are
offered, and the meals are
kosher. The camp is ac-
credited by the American
Camping Association.
Tuition is $1468 for each
four-week session.

Camp Young Judaea,
which is situated in Loma
Mar, California, in the Santa
Cruz Redwoods, incorporates
a total Jewish environment
with typical camping ac-
tivities. Open to boys and
girls in grades 3-10, three and
a half week sessions are of-
fered. Hebrew langauge
games, Shabbat celebration,
nature study, swimming,
dance, soccer, talent shows,
movies and baseball are all a
part of the program.
The meals are kosher and
tuition ranges. The camp is
accredited by the American
Camping Association.

Camp Young Judaea
Sprout Lake, which is
located in the Hudson Valley,
Upstate New York, offers one,
two, four and eight-week ses-
sions for boys and girls in
grades 2-8. Activities include
swimming instruction, sports,
arts and crafts, music, dance,
drama, canoeing, boating and
nature. Meals are kosher, and
the camp is accredited by the
American Camping
Association.
Tuition ranges from $468
for the one-week session, to
$2968 for the eight-week
session.
