Sets Fall Classes

Machon L'Torah, the Jewish
Learning Network of Michi-
gan, will begin the fall and
winter 1990 JudaiCollege lec-
ture series at 7:30 p.m. Oct.
29.
The series will continue
each Monday evening
throughout November and
December. The programs will
focus on topics relevant to
contemporary Jewish living.
JudaiCollege is based at
Machon L'Torah Learning
Center in Oak Park. There is
no charge. For reservations,
call 967-0888.
Rabbi Abraham Jacobovitz,
director of Machon L'Torah,
will continue the Monday
Lunch and Learn program,
"Have Lunch with
Maimonides."
The session will focus on
"The Laws of Thanksgiving"
using the Maimonides text. It
will take place at 12:30 p.m.
Oct. 22 at the office of Jack
Zwick, 3000 Prudential Town
Center. Reservations are
required.
Machon L'Torah in conjunc-
tion with B'nai B'rith Hillel
Foundation of Wayne State
University, will. hold a pro-
gram at noon Oct. 30, at
Hillel, Charles Grosberg
Bldg., Room 667.
The program will include a
discussion led by Rabbi
Abraham Jacobovitz, director
of Machon L'Torah, on "Mes-
sianism: Healthy Hope vs.
Shattered Myths."

Adat Shalom Plans
Three Fall Courses

Adat Shalom Synagogue
and the Midrasha, College of
Jewish Studies, will offer
four-week courses beginning
Oct. 24.
Bio-Medical Ethics in
Jewish Law" will be taught
by Rabbi Rod Glogower, Rab-
bi of the Hillel Orthodox
Union and adjunct lecturer in
Judaic Studies at the Univer-
sity of Michigan, at 7:30 p.m.
"Introduction to Yiddish
Conversation" will be taught
by Ellen Kellman of the
University of Michigan at
7:30 p.m. Ms. Kellman will
also teach the course "Tevye
the Dairyman — The Tradi-
tional Jew Faces Modernity"
at 8:30 p.m.
All courses will be held at
Adat Shalom. There is a fee.
