"Jewish Law and Business
Ethics." Topics for subsequent
lectures include capital
punishment on Oct. 30, anti-
Semitism on Nov. 6, and In-
termarriage on Nov. 13.

Bais Chabad Adds
Four Adult Classes

Bais Chabad Torah Center
announces the addition of
four classes to its adult study
program.
A class on Siddur skills will
be given at 5 p.m. Sundays at
the center by Martin Good-
man, center president.
A class on learning how to

read Hebrew will begin at 8
p.m. Tuesdays at the center
by Rabbi Yechiel Polter.
An in-depth class on the
Book of Genesis will be given
by Chaya Sara Silberberg at
8 p.m. Tuesdays at the center.
This course will be geared
towards teachers. Knowledge
of Hebrew is required.
Rabbi Elimelech Silberberg
will give a course on contem-
porary halachic issues at 8
p.m. Sundays at the home of
Dr. Alan and Andrea Stawis.
The first class will deal with
women minyonim.
All classes begin the week
of Oct. 21.
Rabbi Silberberg will lec-
ture on the Book of Genesis at
8:15 p.m. Oct. 22 at the Torah
Center. The lecture is part of
a series on basic Judaism.

Aish HaTorah Plans
Three New Classes

Aish HaTorah is starting a
cycle of three classes to be
repeated quarterly
throughout the year.
The classes will be taught
by Rabbi Alon Tolwin, educa-
tional director of Aleynu. The
first class is the "Five Levels
of Pleasure," which is based
upon the writings of Rabbi
Aron of Barcelona. Rabbi
Tolwin will define the five
levels and discuss how to have
more energy by being aware
of other levels.
The second class will look
at the Jewish view of love and
how to enhance relationships.
It will be held at 8 p.m. Oct.
14 at the Aleynu office.
The third class is "Actualiz-
ing your Potential: How to
Use Free Choice."
There is a fee for non-
members. Call the Aleynu of-
fice for details, 948-6900.

Israeli Author
To Speak Oct. 28

Anton Shamus, an Israeli
author, will speak at 10 a.m.
Oct. 28 at Temple Emanu-El.
Mr. Shamas is the
translator of the novel,
Arabesques which explores
the dilemmas of growing up
an Arab in the Jewish State.
He is visiting professor of
Near Eastern Studies at the
University of Michigan. This
program is co-sponored by the
Center for Judaic Studies,
Wayne State University.
Brunch wil be served. There
is no charge. For information,
