NO BETTER ANYWHERE! THE HEALTHIEST, MO!

London with the bride,
Denise Bass, marrying bar-
rister David Joseph . . . Was
at St. John's Wood
Synagogue, attended by Chief
Rabbi Lord Jacob Oritz.
Bridal party was decked out
in top hats, morning tails and
gloves . . . Reception followed
in the ballroom of the
Grosvenor House Hotel on
Park Lane . . . "Felt like an
audience with the Queen,"
say Marietta and Ernest .. .
A toast to the Royal Family
preceded dinner.
Before the wedding, after
the "aufruf" (shabbat
synagogue services day
before), the groom's family
entertained in their elegant
town house, formerly oc-
cupied by the Duchess of
Windsor (Wally Simpson) and
author Harold Pinter.
After the wedding, Mariet-
ta and Ernest flew to Nice
and toured the French
Riviera, "the Shangri-la of
Europe" . . . On their flight
back, Michael Caine, Roger
Moore (007) and Ringo Starr
were on the plane.
Marietta and Ernest will
soon move their store three
doors south from its present
locale next to the Birm-
ingham Theatre.
WHAT STARTED out as a
one-time trial is now on
number three at Hyatt
Regency Dearborn . . .
Tonight, 8 p.m., is still
another in what has become
a series of boxing bouts at the
hotel . . . The fights are in the
Hubbard Ballroom . . .
Number four is already set for
Sept. 29.
SUSAN MURPHY, former
bossgal at Lip Service Adver-
tising and Public Relations in
Troy since 1987, is new facili-
ty coordinator at Palace of
Auburn Hills . . . Sue is
responsible for obtaining and
coordinating trade and con-
sumer shows, supervising pro-
duction of events at area
clubs, theaters and facilities,
and handling inquiries on
parking lot rentals, arena
banquets and charitable
events.
OVERHEARD. . . Moe
Miller and Max Sosin outside
Ira Kaufman Funeral Chapel,
"Well," said Moe, "we walked
out again."
NO, THAT'S not a new
hair style on Temple Israel's
Cantor Harold Orbach . . .
After 18 years, he has shaved
off his beard . . . makes him
look younger ... I personally
liked the beard . . . gave
Harold more character.
