Israel-Istanbul
Trip Planned
Discover the spirit that
links two countries May 17-29
through the largest and most
comprehensive university in
Israel, Tel Aviv University.
On a 12-day trip to Israel and
Turkey, you will experience
the educational, historical
and cultural treasures of the
two worlds and sample their
special Jewish cultures.
At the university in Israel,
the American delegation will
join Jewish community
members from 23 countries.
As a member, you will ex-
perience campus life and
meet with students,
dignitaries and political
leaders to gain insight into
the issues facing Israel today.
In addition, you will attend
the Silver Jubilee celebration
of the Sackler School of
Medicine and inaugurations
of new university buildings
and landscapes that ex-
emplify Aviv University's
continued growth.
Outside of the university,
you will enjoy special tours of
the historical sights of Israel,
varied musical performances
and cultural events.
The trip then moves on to
Istanbul, known as the
Jewish mother-city, with
10,000 years of historical and
cultural treasurers. Shabbat
dinner will be shared with
members of the Jewish com•
munity, and hosts will show
their Judaic sites including
the labyrinth of the Topkapi
Palace and the blue-glaze til-
ed Blue Mosque. Travelers
can take a cruise along the
straits of the Bogazi,
separating Europe and Asia
and shop for jewelry, copper,

Bazaar.
