BBYO Promotes Lewin,
Three Go To Poland
The B'nai B'rith Youth
Organization has promoted
Adele Lewin to the position of
Associate Regional Director
for Michigan Region BBYO.
She remains in charge of ser-
vice to the 17 BBG chapters
in Detroit and Windsor and
as adviser to the Great Lakes
BBG Council.
Lewin, a graduate of
Michigan State University,
completed the year-long cer-
tificate program in Judaic
and Hebrew Studies at the

World Union of Jewish
Students in Arad, Israel. She
is a veteran of Camp
Tamarack summer staff and
has led both the Western and
Alaska trips for the Camp.
The BBYO Board of Direc-
tors has selected Randall
Fogelman (Casimir Funk
AZA) and Ellen Kogan
(Machar BBG) to represent
Michigan Region in the
BBYO delegation on the
March of the Living in Poland
and Israel. BBYO also named
Arnold Weiner, Michigan
regional director, as a staff
member accompanying the
trip.
The "March" will take
place over the two-mile
distance separating
Auschwitz from Birkenau,
the largest concentration
camp complex built by the
Nazis during World War II.
Three thousand teens from
around the world will par-
ticipate on Yom HaShoah,
Holocaust Remembrance Day,
April 22, retracing the
"March of Death," and
celebrating the continued ex-
istence of Jewish life, affirm-
ing "Am Yisrael Chai — The
People of Israel Live!"
After touring the sites of
the Nazi destruction of
Jewish life in Poland, the
group will proceed to Israel
April 30 to participate in the
celebration of Yom Ha'atz-
maut, Israeli Independance
Day.

will hold its spring meeting
10 a.m. April 22, at the BBYO
CSC.
THE AZA COUNCIL EX-
ECUTIVE BOARD will
hold its monthly meeting 4
p.m. April 24 at the BBYO
CSC, and will conduct elec-
tion for the Council installa-
tions chairman.
THE BBG COUNCIL
GENERAL BOARD will
meet 4 p.m., April 24, at the
BBYO CSC. All BBG chapter
presidents are expected to
attend.
BBG BOARD OF DIREC-
TORS will hold its monthly
meeting 8 p.m. April 24 in the
WB JCC Board room.
BBG COUNCIL EX-
ECUTIVE BOARD will
hold its monthly meeting and
election for BBG Installations

Adat Shalom Youth
Leads Services
Adat Shalom youth will
lead the congregation in
Shabbat morning services 9
a.m. April 14. This youth ser-
vice, on the Shabbat during
Passover, has become an an-
nual Adat Shalom tradition.
Adat Shalom USY Presi-
dent Jason Vieder will deliver
the sermon on "My Real
Jewish Education."
Following the service the
synagogue will hold its an-
nual Ronnie Posen Youth
Luncheon. A fund was
established by the Posen
family in memory of Ronnie
Posen to enhance the cultural
and religious programming
of the synagogue's youth
groups.
Don Shane, WXYZ sport-
scaster, will speak following
lunch.
