Everts' Paintings
At Joy Emery

The Joy Emery Gallery in
Grosse Pointe Farms will
exhibit "Connor Everts: Re-
cent Paintings," Feb. 9
through March 17.
Everts, who was artist-in-
residence at Cranbrook
Academy of Art from 1976 to
1981, is a west coast painter.
Most of Everts' earlier
work is confrontational, in-
cluding a 1963 exhibition
based on the assassination of
President John F. Kennedy
which was closed by the
police. Ten years later, in
1973, Everts did a series of
works on the death of his
friend Salvadore Allende,
the assassinated President
of Chili.
