The Center for Creative
Studies presents the second
of its three series of
"Richard Luby and Friends"
concerts 8 p.m. Feb. 3 at
Kingswood Auditorium in
Bloomfield Hills.
The concert features guest
artist Edward Parmentier,
harpsichordist, and Luby on
baroque violin. Titled "Les
Elegances," the concert's
program includes suites and
sonatas of Francois
Couperin and J.S. Bach.
Detroit native Luby is an
internationally acclaimed
baroque and classical
violinist and has appeared
as a recitalist and soloist
throughout Europe and Nor-
th America.

Brookside Slates
Silent Auction

Take a trip around the
world with Brookside's auc-
tion, "Kaleidoscope Visits
the Orient," 6 p.m. Feb. 10.
The event features food
from Burma, Japan, China
and Korea, prepared by Chef
Chris Carl of the Bijou Res-
taurant. The silent auction
includes a 1990 Mercury
Topaz and a hand-carved
aquamarine, 6 1/2 carats
with 1/2 carats of diamonds
in an 18 carat setting.
Also up for bid will be a
designer bag and wallet, a
wine tasting for twelve, a
lapis snuff bottle, a chil-
dren's play center, a full-
length fur coat, tennis mem-
berships and use of vacation
condominiums, among
others.
Brookside is located at 550
Cranbrook Road in Bloom-
field Hills.
