At Women's World
Real life "Jazz Singer," Hal
Jeffrin, will entertain patrons
of Shaarey Zedek Sisterhood's
annual Women's World at a
special reception in the home
of Shelley and Joel Tauber on
May 9 at 7:30 p.m. Each
patron may bring one guest to
this event.
Jeffrin is equally at home
whether singing Israeli
songs, Yiddish favorites or
selections from Broadway.
While attending Syracuse
University, he sang with
the Syracuse Symphony
Opera Company and made
numerous appearances as
both a popular and classical
singer. His graduate work
was at the Cantor's Institute
of the Jewish Theological
Seminary of America.
In addition to serving as a
professional cantor, he has ap-
peared as featured soloist at

titled "The Words and The
Music." As a pop singer, he
performs regularly in the na-
tion's leading resort and
entertainment centers.
Jeffrin has starred in pro-
ductions of Funny Girl,
Fiorello, Milk and Honey, and
in the world premiere of the
jazz opera, The Marriage of
Heaven and Hell. His acting
work has led to appearances
on the popular TV daytime
dramas, "The Edge of Night,"
"The Doctors," and "One Life
To Live."
Patron ticket donation
levels are: platinum, gold and
silver. The names of all
patrons will appear in the
Women's World program.
Other ticket categories in-
clude sponsor (name will ap-
pear in the program); and
donor.
All tickets include admis-
sion to Women's World, an all-
day event on May 10 from 10
a.m. to 4 p.m. at the
synagogue. Activities include
continental breakfast, shopp-
ing in the street bazaar and
a luncheon; followed by a talk
by psychologist, author and
lecturer, Dr. Sol Gordon.
