tion. Mrs. Tilchin had served
on the board of the Fresh Air
Society prior to her present
position as registrar. She also
is a member of the task force
of the Jewish Information and
Referral Service.

Real Estate Division, Educa-

is involved in several of the

Steven Hirsch
Is Bar Mitzvah

Steven Hirsch, son of
Margie and Michael Hirsch,
will twin his bar mitzvah at
10:30 a.m. Saturday at Tem-
ple Kol Ami. His twin will be
Ilia Khanukaev, son of
Zakharia and Mulaim
Khanukaev of Derbent
Dagestanskaya, USSR. The
Khanukaevs have two other
children, Robert and Regina.
Khanukaev first applied for
an exit visa in June 1975. He
was refused in August of that
year. Permission was denied
because he had served in the
armed services. He now is
employed as a basketball
coach.
Steven has written many
letter to Ilia but has received
no response.

Youth To Twin
Celebration

Lawrence Ross Kovacs will
celebrate his bar mitzvah at
Congregation Beth Achim on
Saturday. Larry will sym-
bolically share his bar mitz-
vah with Nisim Anisimov, a
13-year-old boy from the
USSR, where the law pro-
hibits anyone under 16 from
taking part in a religious
ceremony.
The Anisimov family has
been denied exit visas
because the father has refus-
ed to serve in the Soviet army.
Larry has sent several letters,
but has not received any
response.
