Dr. Louis E. Hirschman
Dr. Louis E. Hirschman will
be installed as the 59th presi-
dent of the Detroit Chapter of
Alpha Omega International
Dental Fraternity on May 14
at Temple Beth El. Dr.
Hirschman was first elected
as president in 1981.
Dr. Hirschman was presi-
dent of the Michigan Associa-
tion of Endodontists and
special chief examiner for the
Michigan State Board of Den-
tistry in endodontists. He has
been adviser to the north-
western component of the
Detroit Dental Assistants
Association.
He was selected as chair-
man of the Oakland County
Dental Society peer review
committee and currently
serves on the Michigan Den-
tal Association peer review
committee.
He is the director of the sec-
tion of endodontics in the
Detroit Dental Clinic Club as
well as its immediate past
president. He is on the active
staff of both Sinai and Mt.
Carmel Hospitals. At Sinai he
serves as chief of the section
of endodontics.
Dr. Hirschman has taught
at the University of Detroit
School of Dentistry as assis-
tant clinical professor in en-
dodontics, Loyola University
School of Dentistry as an in-
structor in anatomy and
pathology, and as assistant
clinical professor in endodon-
tics. He currently teaches in
the general dental residency
program at Sinai Hospital.
Dr. Hirschman is a Fellow of
the American College of Den-
tists, the International Col-
lege of Dentists and the
American College of
Stomotologic Surgeons.
Recently he received the
Michigan Dental Association
Public Service Award.
Dr. Hirschman has served
the Detroit Alumni Chapter
of Alpha Omega for more
than 20 years.
Attending the installation
will be Dr. Richard Williams,
immediate past international
president; Dr. Jack Lawson,
past international president;
Dr. Joel Schaumberg, regent;
Mrs. Cheri Victor, auxiliary
president; Dr. Sue Carron-
Simmons, president.
The master of ceremonies is
Dr. Douglas Shiffman.
Also installed at the in-
stallation will be the officers,
council, and trustees of the
Alumni chapter, and the of-
ficers of the undergraduate
chapters at both the Univer-
sity of Detroit and the
University of Michigan.

Mini-Courses
Due At Center
The educational services
department of the Jewish
Community Center is offer-
ing 1988 summer mini-
courses. The first four-week
session starts the week of
June 5 and the second four-
week session starts the week
of July 10. Classes in music,
dance, art, art tours, reading,
bridge and beginning
duplicate bridge will be
offered.

UHS Plans
Israel Program
United Hebrew Schools will
host an Israel celebration for
developmentally disabled
adults 11:30 a.m. Sunday at
the United Hebrew Schools.
