as Everyman the Mime, along
with a floor hockey tourna-

the city's Jewish teens at the
Tamarack Adventure Center
on Dec. 12.
The teen cabaret will be
opened to ninth through 12th
graders from 11 p.m. until 1
a.m. and to seventh and
eighth graders from 8 p.m. to
10:30 p.m. There is an admis-

School students, Dov Chelst
and Jeff Traurig, have
qualified as finalists in the
31st annual Michigan
Mathematics Prize Competi-
tion. Both students placed
within the top three percent
of about 22,500 students tak-
ing the first part of the
examination.
Trappers Alley
Event Saturday
Temple Beth El's 1988 con-
firmation class will hold a
Trappers Alley event Satur-
day, beginning with Hav-
dalah at 6:30 p.m., followed by
dinner at Grecian Gardens,
and desset at Trappers Alley.
Temple Beth El's grades six
through eight will go to the
Jewish Center's teen cabaret
night Dec. 12. Activities will
begin with Havdalah at 6:30
p.m. followed by dinner at
Kerby's Koney Island and an
evening at the Camp
Tamarack Adventure Center.
Habonim-Dror, the youth
group of the Labor Zionist
movement, will hold an open
house for interested families,
2 p.m. Sunday at the Jewish
Community Center's Camp
Ruth in West Bloomfield.
Habonim seeks boys and
girls, grades four through
seven, to join its Detroit
branch.
Kids will be treated to an
afternoon of Israeli winter
sports and activities, in-
cluding map making with ice
cream. Parents may par-
ticipate in an orientation ses-
sion about the activities and
philosophy of Habonim-Dror.
The community is invited
at no charge. Refreshments

For Wiesel
A limited number of reser-
vations remain for an evening
with Nobel Laureate Elie
Wiesel, apearing on behalf of
the Allied Jewish Campaign,
7 p.m. Dec. 10 at Cong.
Shaarey Zedek.
The cocktail buffet for Cam-
paign contributors of $2,500
and over, is planned to help
Detroit launch the 1988 Cam-
paign. A dessert reception
with Wiesel will follow his
remarks.
The Wiesel meeting will
signal the conclusion of the
Campaign's major gifts phase,
and the start of an intensive
period of campaigning at all
division levels.
The men's and women's
Hadracha young leadership
groups are back from Israel
and have begun soliciting
their prospects. A revitalized
agency Campaign is under-
way, under the leadership of
chairman Lester S. Burton,
and a telethon is scheduled
for Dec. 14 from the Louis and
Esther LaMed auditorium in
the United Hebrew Schools'
Adolph Deutsch Administra-
tive building.
