Shared Shabbat

Youth chapter will share
Shabbat with residents at two
homes operated by the Jewish
Association for Retarded
Citizens. The USYers will
bake challah, sing and teach
traditional Shabbat songs
and blessings.
Participants include: Beth
Frenkel, David Tessler, Marc
Blackman, Carl Raboi, Stuart
Shiland, Leor Skoczlas, Mike
Weiss, Matthew Citron and
Alissa Citron. Advisers are

The United Hebrew
Schools, Troy Branch, will
have its Chanukah celebra-
tion Sunday at the Hamilton
Elementary School, 5626
Northfield Parkway, Troy.
Families and friends of
students are invited to this
Shir-Rekudiah, song and
dance festival. Each class
from nursery through the hey
class (seventh grade) will per-
form in honor of Chanukah.
Dr. Shalom Kalib will accom-
pany and lead communal
singing.
The school newspaper writ-
ten and designed by Mrs.
Wendy Newman's fifth, sixth
and seventh graders will be
distributed. Sunday super-
visor, Mrs. Hanni Lopin, will
explain the meaning of
Chanukah. Soufganiot (jelly
donuts) and beverages will be
provided by the Troy Jewish
Congregation. There is no
charge.
On Dec. 13, the children
will continue their prepara-
tion for Chanukah by making
special projects with their
teachers for their home
celebrations.
