Rabbi Leizer Levin, president
of the Council of Orthodox Rab-
bis of Greater Detroit, and Paul
Borman, general chairman of
the 57th anniversary dinner of
the council, have announced
that this year's dinner honoree
will be Rabbi Chaskel Grubner,
menahel of the council.
As menahel of the council for
the last 37 years, Rabbi
Grubner, according to Rabbi
Levin, has "selflessly given of
himself and has succeeded in
making the Council of Rabbis

Morris Flatt of Oak Park will
be honored 9 a.m. Sunday at
the annual Support Breakfast
for the National Conference of
Synagogue Youth (NCSY).
Flatt will receive the first an-
nual Kesser Torah Award for
his support of Yachad NCSY's
program for Jewish
developmentally disabled.
The breakfast is being
chaired by Gary Torgow and
will take place at the Young
Israel of Greenfield. Guest
speaker is Rabbi Raphael B.
Butler, national director of.
NCSY, who will speak on "In-
formal Jewish Education, Op-
tion or Obligation?"

Goodfellows Donate

In memory of Rabbi Leon
Fram, the founding rabbi of
Temple Israel, the Goodfel-
lows have contributed a
major gift to the "Send a Kid
to Camp" program of the
Jewish Community Center of
Metropolitan Detroit.
The money provides camp
scholarships to children
whose families are unable to
send them to Center day
camp.
