Resolution Hit

New York, April 28 (JTA)
— Governors of 49 states
have issued official proclama-
tions condemning the 1975
United Nations General As-
sembly resolution equating
Zionism with racism. Gover-
nor John Sununu of New
Hampshire was the only gov-
ernor who declined to issue a
proclamation condemning the
resolution. He reportedly re-
fused on the grounds that he
vowed during his election
campaign not to issue proc-
lamations of any kind as long
as he is governor.

Gender-Based
Insurance Hit

New York (JTA) — A
Pennsylvania law permitting
auto' insurance companies to
charge young male drivers
higher rates than young
females violates the state
constitution's Equal Rights
Amendment, contends the
American Jewish Congress.
In a friend-of-the-court
brief in the case of Barth-
olomew vs. Grody, AJCon-
gress argues "gender-based
clarifications" are but an ad-
ministrative convenience and
do not consider a driver's
inherent capabilities.

Hawaii JWF
To Charge Dues

Honolulu (JTA) — The
Jewish Federation of. Hawaii
has announced it will reor-
ganize to become a member-
ship organization for all con-
tributors of at least $50 to its
annual campaign.
An estimated 5,000 Jews
live in this largest city in the
Hawaiian islands, with 450
elsewhere 'in the state.
