Seniors Attend Concert

The senior adult depart-
ment of the Jewish Commu-
nity Center, Jimmy Prentis
Morris Branch, has arranged
for a trip to the Detroit Sym-
phony Orchestra Coffee Con-
cert today.
The series was provided
courtesy of the Boaz Siegel
Endowment Fund and the
Michigan Council for the
Arts. There is a nominal
charge for transportation.
On Tuesday, Frances
Weinberg will review Self-
Portrait of a Hero, Letters of
Jonathan Netanyahu in cele-
bration of Israel Month, at 11
a.m. in room 4.
Rabbi Allan Blustein will
discuss Israel through the
eyes of a Jewish educator at
1 p.m. Tuesday in the JPM
assembly hall. Following the
lecture, Archie Leslie will
present an Israeli film in the
assembly hall.
Sinai Hospital, in conjunc-
tion with the senior adult de-
partment, will present a
vision screening in the as-
sembly hall 10 a.m.-noon and
1-3 p.m. on Thursday.
A volunteer recognition
luncheon will be held May 17
at the JPM Branch, to recog-
nize more than 80 volunteers
who contributed to the senior
adult department's programs.
Max Sosin, Eric Rosenow,
Marsha Rofel and Cantor
David Gutman will entertain.
Reservations are limited. Call

reservations.

Temple Group
Takes Bus Tour

The Beth Elders will take a
bus excursion to the Toledo
Portside Inn at 9 a.m. May
19, leaving from the Temple
Beth El parking lot.
The day will include a boat
ride, shopping, sight-seeing.
Cost of the trip includes
round-trip transportation.
Reservations are limited to
46.
Paid reservations are due
by Tuesday.

Tuesday Troupers
Present Concert

The Tuesday Troupers, a
group of women who have
danced together for nearly 20
years at the Jimmy Prentis
Morris Branch of the Jewish
Community Center, will pre-
sent their annual spring
dance concert for senior
adults on May 21 at 11 a.m.
in Jaffe Hall of the Morris
Branch.
Their theme is "America,
Israel, The World." The pro-
gram is free to the public.

Members of the Tuesday
Troupers are: Shirley Wein-
garden, Ophelia Herman,
Ethel Sillberg, Harriet
Salzberg, Pat Brill, Rosevelyn
Leiberman, Edith Polk,

Finley, Lillian Crayle and
Sylvia Solomon. Harriet Berg
is artistic director.

Games for Seniors

The senior game room is
open Monday mornings at the
Jewish Community Center in
West Bloomfield. Refresh-
ments are served.

Scoliosis Group
To Hear Speaker

Dr. Walter Bobechko

Dr. Walter Bobechko, chief
of orthopedic surgery at the
Hospital for Sick Children,
will speak to the Scoliosis
Association of Michigan at
7:30 p.m. in the Fischer Cen-
ter Auditorium at Providence
Hospital.
Dr. Bobechko will speak on
"Scoliosis: The Past, Present
and Future." Admission is
free. The meeting is co-
sponsored by. the Providence
Hospital Foundation and the
Royal Oak Area Optimist
Club.
Dr. Bobechko is interna-
tionally known for an
electro-spinal instrumenta-
tion spinal pacemaker de-
veloped in 1974.

Sefer Torah
To Be Dedicated

The Young Israel of Green-
field will complete the writing
of its new Sefer Torah at 9:30
a.m. on Lag B'Omer, May 17.
Following the writing will be a
dedication ceremony, including
music and dancing.
Refreshments will be served.
There is no charge.
There is still time to dedicate
letters in honor of someone or
in memory of a loved one. For
