Ray and Samuel Rosenberg

Rosenberg 50th

Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Rosen-
berg of Southfield will celeb-
rate their 50th wedding an-
niversary on Saturday. Sam
and Ray (Knee) were married
March 7, 1937, at Cong. B'nai
David in Detroit.
Sam was in the laundry and
dry cleaning business in De-
troit from 1945 until his re-
tirement. Both Ray and Sam
are active supporters and par-
ticipants in the activities of
Cong. B'nai David and its sis-
terhood and men's club. Sam
has helped out in the office of
Akiva Hebrew Day School in
Southfield for the last ten
years. He has also volunteered
in- helping the Russian immig-
rants, the Greater Detroit

Association for the Blind and
the Civil Defense Corps in
Southfield.
Ray has been very active in
the Jewish community and
with the Sinai Hospital Guild,
Meals on Wheels and B'nai
David Sisterhood of which she
has been an officer for many
years.
The couple will celebrate
this occasion this weekend at a
small dinner party with their
close friends and family, Dr.
and Mrs. Michael (Bonnie)
Rosenberg and Dr. and Mrs.
Lawrence (Shirley) Loewent-
hal of Southfield, and
grandchildren. They will also
celebrate Ray's 75th birthday
which is on March 16.

Levitt 50th

Esther and Samuel Levitt of
Southfield were honored on
their 50th wedding anniver-
sary at the bar mitzvah of their
grand-nephew, Edward
Michael Shulman, on Feb. 14
at the Niles Township Jewish
Congregation in Skokie, Ill.
Rabbi Neil Brief and Cantor
Shlomo Shuster officiated.
Their grand-nephew is the
son of Dr. Stanford and Claire
Shulman and brother to De-
borah Lynn and Elizabeth
Rose.
Esther and Samuel were
called to the bimah by Rabbi
Brief, with their niece and
nephew, for blessings on the
occasion of their anniversary.
They were presented with a
golden wedding certificate of
merit.
The former Esther Shulman
and Samuel Levitt were mar-
ried at the home of her parents
in Detroit on Feb. 14, 1937.
Esther is a life member and

former group president of
Hadassah. Samuel is a retired
pharmacist and member of
Hadassah Associates.

Registration Open
For 'Mixed Doubles'

Registration is open for the
"Mixed Doubles" discussion
series, hosted by the outreach
committee of Temple Emanu-
El. The discussions will focus
on the issues facing intermar-
ried couples. Married couples
and those considering mar-
riage are invited.
The weekly series, which be-
gins 10 a.m. Sunday, will be
moderated by Rabbi Lane
Steinger. Refreshments will be
served.
There is a fee. Contact the
temple office, 967-4020, for in-
formation and to register.
