Harry Cohen, Led Bowlers
Harry Cohen, executive
secretary of International
B'nai B'rith Bowling Associa-
tion (IBBBA) from 1959 until
his retirement this year, died
Nov. 19 at age 79.
Born in New York, Mr.
Cohen lived many years in
Detroit prior to his retire-
ment to Florida 12 years ago.
Upon his retirement from
the IBBBA, Mr. Cohen was
named secretary emeritus.
He was first named to the
IBBBA board of governors in
1953.
He was one of the founders
of Louis D. Brandeis Lodge of
B'nai B'rith in 1945 and a
past president. For many
years he was secretary of the
Brandeis Bowling League,
prior to moving to Florida.
Mr. Cohen was named hon-
orary president of the IBBBA
and received the organiza-
tion's highest award, the
Service Achievement Award.
In Delray Beach, Fla., Mr.
Cohen was a member of the
Kings Point Lodge of B'nai
B'rith. He also was honored
by the Brittany Area of the
Kings Point Complex in 1983
Mary Zameck
Mary Zameck, a life
member and past president of
Hadassah, died Nov 18 at age
78.
Born in London, Ont., Mrs.
Zameck also was a member of
Adat Shalom Synagogue and
its sisterhood, a founding
member of Northwest Child
Rescue Women, United He-
brew Schools Woman's Auxil-
iary, and a volunteer at Pre-
ntis Manor.
She leaves son, Harvey; a
daughter, Jacquelyn; a
brother, Max Silverstein of
Florida; and four
grandchildren.

Mr. Cohen was a retired
sales representative, dealing
with wholesale tobacco and
groceries.
He was a member of Cong.
B'nai David and sang in its
choir for more than 40 years.
Mr. Cohen leaves his wife,
Edythe; a son, Dr. Eugene of
Rockfored, Mich.; a daughter,
Mrs. Sy (Marilyn) Borsen of
Southfield; three sisters, Mrs.
Albert (Ida) Diamond of Oak
Park, Mrs. Fred Linden of
Southfield and Mrs. Charles
(Goldie) Young of Delray Be-
ach,. Fla.; and six
grandchildren. Interment De-
troit.
Marcus Kornstein
Marcus Kornstein of Char-
leston, W. Va., died Nov. 17.
He was 94.
He was a member, in Char-
leston, of B'nai Jacob
Synagogue, Temple Israel,
Zionist Organization of
America, Jewish National
Fund, B'nai B'rith, Kanawha
Players, Light Opera Guild,
Moose Lodge, Pythians, Lions
Club and Allied Artists.
Mr. Kornstein was on the
national boards of the ZOA
and JNF. In July 1973, he
traveled to Israel to receive a
service award from JNF. He
received many awards from
both the national and Tri-
State (West Virginia, Ohio
and Kentucky) region of
ZOA.
He studied art and took up
painting. Some of his works
won prizes in art shows.
He is survived by a daugh-
ter, Mrs. Richard (Jan) Boyer
of Rochester Hills, Mich.; four
grandchildren and one
great-grandson. Interment
Charleston.
