Seniors Explore History

"Jewish History Through the
Eyes of the Torah" will be the
topic of a . lecture for senior
adults at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the
assembly hall of the Jimmy
Prentis Morris Branch of the
Jewish Community Center.
Rabbi Elimelech Silberberg of
Cong. Bais Chabad of West
Bloomfield will be the speaker.

At 2 p.m. Tuesday, the films,
Freedom Rings and Baba and
Babi Yar will be shown in the
JPM assembly hall. There is no
charge for the lecture or movies.
A senior adult camp reunion
is scheduled for 1 p.m. Wednes-
day in Jaffe Hall of the JPM
Branch. Camp director Ada
Bandelene will be on. hand to
answer questions. Entertain-
ment and refreshments will
highlight the program.



Senior adults from the JPM
program will participate in the
annual Dor l'Dor (Generation to
Generation) concert at 7 p.m.
Thursday at Adat Shalom
Synagogue. The concert features
singers from the senior adult
department and the sixth grade
of Hillel Day School. The pro-
gram is sponsored by the Na-
tional Council `' of Jewish
Women, the Jewish Center
senior adult department and
Hillel Day School. The public is

invited free of charge. Refresh-
ments will be served.
The Erev Shabbos program
will take place at 12:30 p.m.
May 30 in Jaffe Hall of the JPM
Branch. Mrs. Berel Shemtov of
the Lubavitch Women's Organ-
ization will present the pro-
gram.
At 1:15 p.m. Diane Klein, past
president of Hadassah, will pre-
sent a film about Israel in Jaffe
Hall of the JPM Branch.
A senior adult, volunteer
recognition luncheon will be
held at 12:30 p.m. June 1 in
Jaffe Hall of the JPM Branch.
There is a fee. Reservations are
required.
A total of 75 volunteers will
be honored. Eric Rosenow and
Max Sosin will entertain.
For information and reserva-
tions, call Judy Blustein at the
JPM, 967-4030.
At the main Jewish Center at
noon Tuesday, there will be a
senior adult Lag B'Omer picnic
at the pool patio. Participants
are asked to bring a brown bag
lunch.
Musician Sam Barnett and
vocalist Mayme Lawson will
entertain.
Dessert and coffee will be pro-
vided at a nominal fee. For de-

4030.
