New Leadership
Delegations Travel
Detroit's Israel Bond New
Leadership Division will partici-
pate in two out-of-state meetings:
a national spring delegation of
New Leadership will be held at
the Grand Hyatt Hotel in New
York April 12-14, and an Interna-
tional New Leadership Delega-
tion to Israel is scheduled for July
13 to 24.
Donald Wagner and Larry
Wolfe, co-chairmen of Metro De-
troit New Leadership, said in-
terested parties should call Paul
Needelman at the Israel Bond
office, 557-2900, for complete in-
formation regarding these trips.
The spring delegation will fea-
ture a welcoming cocktail recep-
tion; a dinner with Benjamin
Netanyahu, Israel's ambassador
to the United Nations; a meeting
with Dan Halperin, minister for
economic affairs at the Israel Em-
bassy in Washington, D.C.; and a
"Jewish Tour of New York," in-
cluding Ellis Island, the Lower
East Side and a private tour of the
Jewish Museum. Chairing the
°Detroit delegation will be
Jonathan Brateman.
The New Leadership .1986
Delegation to Israel will include a
high level tour of historical and
archeological sites, interaction
with cabinet ministers, members
of Knesset, shopping and social
events.
The trip is open to all singles
and couples of the post-college to
mid-40s. Detroit's delegation
chairman is Richard Partrich.
Registration Starts
For Baseball
Regigtration is under way in
Oak .Park for the summer boys'
baseball (ages 10-15) and girls'
softball (ages 10-14) program
sponsored by the Oak Park de-
partment of recreation.
Player contract deadline is
April 3 at 10 p.m. These programs
are open to both residents and
non-residents. Interested indi-
viduals should register at the Oak
Park Community Center, 545-
6400.
Boys (ages 16-18) and girls
(ages 15-18) who are interested in
playing on a travel baseball team
should contact the department of
recreation, 545-6400, for tryout
information.
Cancer Lecture
At CiviC Center
"What FamilieS Need -to Know
About Cancer," a free community
program, will be held Thursday at
7 p.m. at the Southfield Civic Cen-
ter.
Dr. Vamutii3 Vaitkevicius, on-
cologist and chief of medicine at
Harper-Grace Hospitals, will dis-
cuss the causes, risk factors, pre-
vention and treatment of cancer.
