The Michigan Department of
Commerce will co-sponsor a busi-
ness mission to Israel with the
American-Israel Chamber of
Commerce and Industry, Inc. of
Metropolitan Detroit.
The mission is scheduled for
May 31-June 8 and will be led by
Doug Ross, director, Michigan
Department of Commerce, and
Shelly Komer Jackier, executive
director of the American-Israel
Chamber.
The business mission is open to
a broad spectrum of the Michigan
business community — small,
mid-sized and large companies —
and includes manufacturers, im-
porters and exporters, investors,
and service and professional
representatives.
Special features of the business
mission include:
• Individualized appointments
with Israeli business counter-
parts;
• Visits to high tech industries,
new industrial parks, technical
and agricultural institutes and
universities, industrial and ag-
riculural kibbutzim, military in-
dustry;
• Meeting with Israeli and U.S.
government leaders plus officials
in industry and trade, representa-
tives of major associations and
chambers of commerce.
• Participating, as an option, in
a special two-day seminar on in-
ternational joint ventures and
other forms of industrial co-
operation sponsored by the Wash-
ington, D.C. law firm, Arnold and
Porter.
The mission is limited to 15.
The itinerary will be customized
for their specific business needs.
The deadline for applications for
the mission is March 31.
