and become acquainted with

space flights. Watch movies of

window as you drive through
the Jackson Wild Animal
Kingdom (517-522-8600).
Two Jackson area parks
offer additional amusements.
The Cascades at Sparks
Foundation County Park con-
tains the illuminated cas-
cades, made up of 15
waterfalls and six fountains
which continually change
patterns (517-788-4320). Ella
Sharp Memorial Park is home
to a 19th Century farm and
small farming village, com-
plete with authentic furnish-
ings. Visit the planetarium,
gallery and art studio also on
the grounds (517-787-2320).
Flint has always been asso-
ciated with the car industry.
Take the Buick Motor Di-
vision industrial one-hour
tour (766-5314). Visit Auto
World (233-7000).
If you really want a terrific
spot for children, visit the
Huckleberry Railroad and
Historic Crossroads Village
(736-7100). Take a 45-minute
steam-powered, passenger
coach train ride and witness a
train robbery. Walk through a
restored 1860s Genessee
County community and ex-
perience an operating
blacksmith shop, sawmill,
leather shop and cider mill.
Most people pass London,
Ontario in their hurry to
reach Toronto. This charming
town is full of sites that will
interest children. London
Regional Children's Museum
(519-434-5726) has hands-on
exhibits with a twist. Chil-
dren are invited to participate
by dressing up in each gal-
lery. They can become a
caveman, Inuit Indian, fire-
man and more.
Visit Storybook Gardens in
London (519-451-2800), a
350-acre fairyland where
children can climb, slide and
walk into large storybook set-
tings and also ride a minia-
ture train. Fanshawe Pioneer
Village (519-451-2800) is a
19th Century re-created
community. Enjoy the
Museum of Indian Archeol-
ogy's reproduction of an At-
tawandaron settlement (519-
