MORT LEWIS WRITES from
Margate, Fla. . . . "Our Detroit
Club had its Mystery Trip and it
was great. Our initial in-
structions were attached to a
bottle of Faygo Red Pop which told
us where to go for step 2. Our sec-
ond instructions were attached to
two 'Seven Mile Road garlic
bagels.' Our third instructions led
us to 'Coolidge and Nine Mile
Road in Oak Park,' where we had
food, drinks and dancing.
"Now we are looking forward to
our annual Beach Party in June.
Hy and Elaine Emery and their
children, as well as Jerry and De-
lores Friedman are the tireless
workers for our Detroit Club. We
owe them a special thanks for
their efforts. They certainly work
very hard. We had four couples of
our children's generation in
attendance with 50 other De-
troiters.
"News Items — Arlene Colbert
wishes her father, Royal C. Bar-
nett, happy birthday on his 80th
this June 4. We at the Detroit
Club would also like to say Happy
Birthday to Mr. Barnett with
wishes for many many more.
Sally Landy and Bob Cohen went
to see our Detroit Tigers lose two
games while in Lakeland, and are
glad they are winning when it
means something. Dennis and
Ruth Rice's son Steven was re-
cently bar mitzvah'd. Jerry and
Debbie Glassman are new mem-
bers to our Detroit Club. They cer-
tainly are a lot of fun. Thirty-odd
years ago, I remember going to
the Lynx Club meeting and ask-
ing Debbie to go see a movie at the
Michigan Theater. At that time
we both attended Central High
School. It was quite a thrill being
with them. They live in Southfield
six months and Florida six
months.
"Best regards from our Detroit
Club."
