JPI to mark
Chanukah
The Jewish Parents Institue
will celebrate Chanukah at 10
a.m. Sunday at the Jewish Corn-
munity Center in West Bloom-
field.
Children will perform, songs,
dances and plays, followed by
community singing and a special
candle-lighting ceremony written
by J.P.I. Following the pre-
sentations, potato latkes and bev-
erages will be served, and chil-
dren will make Chanukah decora-
tions.
Special guests at this celebra-
tion will be residents of the Lillian
and Samuel Hechtman Apart-
ments.
At 1:30 p.m., J.P.I.'s b'nai
mitzvah students will sell donuts,
juice, and coffee in the main lobby
as part of the JCC's annual
Chanukah "Open House." All
proceeds from these sales will go
toward the purchase of Chanukah
gifts for needy Jewish youngsters.
J.P.I. students will supplement
the fund with their own dona-
tions.
Dec. workshop,
lecture slated
The senior adult department of
the Jewish Community Center
will sponsor a lecture on "Living
and Loving: Sexuality after- 60" 1
p.m. Tuesday at the Center's main
branch in West Bloomfield. Guest
lecturer will be Dr. Brad Sewick,
of the department of psychiatry at
Sinai Hospital.
A workshop on inter-personal
communication will be held 11
a.m. Dec. 25 with a clinical psy-
chologist from Sinai Hospital.
These programs are supported
by a grant from the Area Agency
on Aging 1-B which stipulates
that no one shall be excluded from
participation in such programs
because of race, sex, age, national
origin or handicap.

Outdoor group
for Orthodox
planning trips
The Shomer Shabbat Outdoors
Group of New York, for Orthodox
Jews age 21-39, has organized two
ski trips.
A downhill ski trip to Steam-
boat Springs, Colo., is planned for
Dec. 30-Jan. 6. Kosher meals will
be available and Shabbat ob-
served.
A downhill ski trip to Holiday
Mountain in New York is planned
for Jan. 25-27. The fee is all-
inclusive, except for transporta-
tion to and from the hotel.
