Jews Gone — And Other Current
Dilemmas" will be the topic of A
Weekend Encounter With Dennis
Prager today through Sunday at
Adat Shalom Synagogue, spon-
sored by the adult study commis-
sion.
Prager, author, lecturer and
debater, will address a United
Synagogue Youth Oneg Shabbat
at 8 p.m. today. Following Maariv
services, the youth groups will
meet with Prager to discuss
"Jewish Values vs. Students Val-
ues." All teenagers are invited to
the meeting, which will be held in
the synagogue board room.
At 9 a.m. Shabbat services
Saturday, Prager will speak on
"Where Have All the Young Jews
Gone?" Luncheon will follow.
The men's club will have a
brunch at 10 a.m. Sunday. Stu-
dents from the synagogue's bar
and bat mitzvah club and from the
Hebrew high school and their
parents will participate. Prager
will discuss "Why the Jews? The
reason for Anti-Semitism."
The community is invited. Only
persons who have made advance
reservations for the luncheon and
brunch will be admitted.

New York (JTA) — For the first
time in United States military
history a rabbi has been promoted
to the rank of Brigadier General,
according to the West Point
Jewish Chapel Fund.
Rabbi Israel Drazin, 48, a prac-
ticing attorney in Maryland,
serves in the U.S. Army Reserve.
