Arens was quoted by Is-

for what would happen in
the Shouf area after the IDF

Arens denied that Is-

party in the dispute, say-
ing Israel was aiding "the

"We have no plan or in-

In a related development,
Danny Chamoun, the son of
former

President
Camille Chamoun, met
with Foreign Minister Yit-
zhak Shamir. During their
meeting Chamoun ex-
pressed support for the
ratification of the Israel-
Lebanon agreement, which
Lebanon has so far failed to
do.
He also expressed the
hope that the Israeli with-
drawal from the Shouf
mountain area would be
coordinated with the
Lebanese government.
