Critical Cash Collection Aids Campaign Beneficiaries

Telephones are ringing
and reminders are being
mailed out to contributors
to the 1983 Allied Jewish
Campaign and the special
Israel Emergency Fund as
part of an intensified cash

collection effort this sum-
mer.
Although the Campaign
and IEF have officially con-
cluded, Chairman Joel
Tauber said that volunteers
are mobilizing to bolster

Fund, which had a March 31
payment deadline, is a par-
ticular area of concern. Ac-
cording to Louis Berry, cash
mobilization chairman,
telethons have already been
held and a number of major
contributors are being per-
sonally contacted.
"The Detroit commu-
nity's generosity in
pledging more than $4
million to the people of
Israel during this time of
economic crisis typifies
its tradition of concern
and commitment. But it is
vital that all pledges are
paid now if we are to keep
the promises we have
made," Berry said.
