The Best of Everything

(Continued from Page 36)

Lorio-Ross talent agent is
one of only a handful of
people who ever wrote a
song for the Beatles . . .
This great group penned
over 90 percent of its own
tunes . . . Ricky's was "De-
vil In Her Heart" which is
on "Beatles Second Album."
CARL OSHINSKY has
introduced a new concept in
party catering . . . He calls
himself the "Pizza Gour-
met" . . . making, fresh
pizza . . . and puts on a
show for his guests . . .
Carl teaches an adult edu-
cation class at Southfield -
Lathrup High called
"Baker's Delight" . . . and
at his parties is frequently
accompanied by a doorman,
bartender and waiter . . .
Entertainment is provided
by Sataning Margaret
(Margaret Lafian), pianist-
songstress who also
entertains at the Detroit
Press 'Club downtown . . .
Plus pizza, Carl also dishes
out appetizers, antipasto
salad, fresh baked breads
and spaghetti.
By profession, Carl is
owner of a dental laboratory
in Royal Oak . . . grows his
own herbs and prides in the
fact that everything is fresh
and natural . . . He does his
cooking in the customer's
kitchen . . . baking on a
14x16 inch ceramic brick
. . . cleans the kitchen and
wraps up leftovers for the
host and hostess.
MAIL DEPT. . . . "It
was my parent's 50th wed-
ding anniversary and my
sister and I went all over the
city looking at different
facilities and were becom-
ing quite discouraged try-
ing to find a place that had a
little Jewish tam.
Whenever we mentioned
that we were interested in
bagels and lox, we were
looked at funny as they
were trying to figure out
`What was that!'
"We also wanted a place
that was close by but did not
want a shul. When we
talked to the girl at Hamil-
ton Place, we realized that
we had found the right
place. We booked it. After
the invitations were or-
dered, we started hearing so
many bad comments that
we were getting sick to our
stomachs and were quite
concerned as it was too late
to make a change. I wanted
to tell you that we are so
very thrilled that we kept it
at Hamilton Place.
"The banquet manager,
Donna Brown, could not
have been nicer. The cater-
ing manager, Gary (do not
know her last name) was
very, very accommodating
and tried to please in every
way. Everyone there tried
their very best to please us.
"We were served their de-
luxe brunch, and every-
thing — the eggs, blintzes
were hot. The waitress kept
the coffee coming (decafein-
ated as well as regular). The
amount of lox, sable, cream
cheese, bagels and pastries
was more than ample. The
fruit on the sweet table was
all cut into fancy shapes and

displayed so beautifully
that it was a shame to go
into it.
"I have since gotten a lot
of calls from people wanting
to know if we were satisfied
and I think you would be
doing a real service to let
people know what a wonder-
ful catering hall we have in
our midst. I was even pleas-
antly surprised to get a let-
ter from the management
after the party to fill out
asking if I was satisfied
with many questions about
service, etc. This shows a
place that cares. I have not
been so pleased since my
last parties at Raleigh
House."

—Ilene Monast
(Mrs. Benjamin)

"P.S. Party was for my
parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Hyman Sweet."
CHUCK MUER Seafood
restaurants end their
once-a-year . "Lobster
Maineia" festival in the De-
troit area tomorrow . . .
During this special event,
complete live Main lobster
dinners are priced at $11.95
. . . For a very short
period of time each year
there is an over-supply of
lobsters taken along the
New England coast . .
This abundance is created
by good fishing weather
coupled with the end of the
resort/travel season in the
area.
Lobster Maine-ia'' is
served only at Charley's
Crab, Troy; River Crab, St.
Clair; Charley's Raw Bar,
Hotel Pontchartrain;
Gandy Dancer, Ann Arbor;
and Diggers, Farmington
Hills.
BILLY ROSE Quartet
opens at Jakks tonight .. .
Greenfield and 10 Mile . . .
The fine-noted group will be
there Wednesday through
Saturday.
