Comedian Emil Cohen
Will Appear at Bond Event

Emil Cohen will be guest
speaker at the Oakland
Century Lodge dinner in
behalf of the State of Israel
Bond drive.
The event, scheduled for 7
p.m. Tuesday at Adat
Shalom Synagogue, will
honor Maurice Rosender, a
member of Bnai Brith for 37
years and a past president of
Oakland Century Lodge.
Rosender will be the reci-
pient of the Israel Bonds
Lion of Judah Award, "in
appreciation of his leader-
ship in the Israel Bond pro-
gram."
Comedian Emil Cohen
has appeared in major
night clubs, hotels and
theaters throughout the
country and has per-
formed on television and
on radio.
A native of Wilmington,
Del., Cohen presents a pro-
gram finding its origins in
both American and Yiddish
culture. His father is a can-
tor, and Cohen brings to his
performance a wealth of
background in Jewish
music, tradition and humor.
The tribute dinner is
being chaired by Ralph Mil-
ler and Nathan Rubenstein.

`Terror Groups
Train in Lebanon'

JERUSALEM (ZINS) —
In the past year, some 2,000
terrorists from around the
world received training and
equipment in Lebanon, ac-
cording to Israel's Defense
Minister Ariel Sharon.
Sharon claims that the
Irish Republican Army, the
Red Brigades (Italy), the
Baader Group (Germany),
and the Japanese Red Army
have joined the PLO in
using Lebanon as a terrorist
staging ground.
