HMC Meeting On Tuesday
The Capital Gifts and
Endowment Fund Commit-
tee of the Holocaust Memo-
rial Center will host a meet-
ing at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the
home of Alexander and
Gabriella Karp in South-
field.
Guest speaker will be
David S. Mondry, chairman
of the 1981 Allied Jewish
Campaign.
Funds are being raised
by the Capital Gifts and
Endowment Fund Com-
mittee for completion of
the HMC by the 'end of
this summer and for on-
going operation.

The Michigan Chapter of
the American Friends of
Hebrew University has ap-
pointed Harold Berry as
president.
The announcement was
made June 10 by Erwin
Ziegelman, Midwest chair-
man, at a cocktail reception
honoring Paul Zuckerman,
who this week was named
as honorary fellow of He-
brew University.
The reception was hosted
by Mr. and Mrs. David
Holtzman. Dr. William
Haber, adviser to the execu-
tive officers at the Univer-
sity of Michigan, was guest
speaker. He spoke of Zuc-
kerman's contributions to
the Jewish community in
Detroit and to Israel, and
emphasized the importance
of Hebrew Univeisity.

Veterans Gather to Honor
Israeli General for JWV
Levin Wins
Dem Delegates
Sander Levin, candidate
for the Democratic nomina-
tion for Congress in the new
17th District, received a
plurality of the votes in the
Democratic endorsement
meeting of the 17th Con-
gressional District last
Saturday.
Levin won 18 delegate
votes. Detroit City Coun-
cilwoman Maryann Mahaf-
fey won 16 delegates. South-
field State Senator Doug
Ross finished with three
delegates and Mercy Col-
lege President'Sister Agnes
Mary Mansour won one
delegate.
Levin expressed the an-
ticipation that he'll have
the support of all labor fac-
tions in his campaign for the
Democratic nomination.

to Marry in Fall

state- commander of the JWV; and Sam Miller,
president of the Allied Veterans Council of Wayne
County. Also attending were George Jackson, na-
tional vice president of the Paralyzed War Veterans;
John Freeman, state commander of the Catholic War
Veterans and Kenneth Farris, state commander of the
Marine Corps League.
