LOS ANGELES — A test
which may reduce the risk
of side-effects experienced
by some cancer
chemotherapy patients has
been developed at the City
of Hope National Medical
Center in Duarte, Calif.
A special dye is injected
into cancer patients to pre-
dict the rate at which they
would later excrete a
chemotherapy drug called
doxorubicin. This tech-
nique was developed by Dr.
James H. Doroshow, head of
pharmacology at the hospi-
tal.
