Temple to Honor
Senior Adults
The Birmingham Temple
will devote a special pro-
gram to senior citizens at
Sabbath services 8:30 p.m.
today in the temple. _
The celebration will in-
clude a dramatic reading
based on the writings of
residents of the Jewish
Home for the Aged. The
program was created by
Marilyn Rowens and will be
performed by the Drama
Club.
An oneg Shabat in honor
of the senior adults will fol-
low. Transportation is
available by calling the
temple, 477-1410. The
community is invited.

nual tribute dinner on be-
half of Israel Bonds has
been rescheduled to Nov. 19
at the synagogue.
Honored will be Rabbi
Emeritus Benjamin H. Gor-
relick, recipient-elect of Is-
rael Bonds' Jerusalem City
of Peace Award, "in appre-
ciation of his lifetime of
service to Judaism and the
Jewish people."

JERUSALEM — Israel's
Chief Rabbis, Shlomo Goren.
and Ovadia Yosef, have is-
sued New Year proclama-
tions on behalf of the Jewish
National Fund.
The rabbis commend the
JNF for helping to carry out
the biblical commandment
to redeem and resettle the
land.
