Michigan Friends Aiding
Israel Cancer Association

Friends of the Israel
Cancer Foundation in
Michigan have opened a
fund-raising campaign to
aid the Israel Cancer Asso-
ciation.
The association helps
fund treatment and hos-
pitalization programs in Is-
rael, day-care clinics and
home-care programs, re-
habilitation programs and
welfare services, research
grants and funding for pro-

fessional training, and a
massive public education
program.
The Michigan Friends aid
these programs through
membership dues, contribu-
tions and memorials, and
donations.

YOUNG ISRAEL OF
GREENFIELD will have a
youth minyan 10 a.m.
Saturday for 6-11 year olds.
Kidush follows prayers.
There will be a group for
boys in grades three-six at
7:20 p.m. Saturday. One of
the features of the group
will be the study of Mish-
nayos in addition to songs,
games and refreshments.
A special youth Shalosh
Seudos will be held 'follow-
ing Minha at 8:20 p.m.
Saturday for all youngsters.

The playoffs and cham-
pionship game of the AZA
Softball League will be
played 9 a.m. Sunday at
Southfield High School.
Current standings show
Rose AZA in first place with
a 7-1 record, Beber and
Goode AZAs tied for second
at 6-2, and Akiba, Jolson
and Samson AZAs tied for
third at 5-3. The top four
teams will face off in the
playoffs. Spectators are
welcome. AZA Softball
League coordinator is Ed
Rivkin of Beber AZA.
Twelve Michigan Region
BBYOers will attend the
BBYO International Con-
vention Aug. 13-19 at the
Bnai Brith Perlman Camp
in Starlight, Pa. The theme
of this year's convention is
"Side by Side With Pride"
and will be developed in the
areas of pride in Shabat,
pride in the history of the
Jewish people, pride in Is-
rael, and pride in Jewish
youth.
The convention also will
feature the international
oratory and storytelling
contests as well as the elec-
tion of new international
officers. Attending from
Michigan are: Kevin Gers-
tein, Posen AZA, who as
Council president will serve
as delegation leader for
AZA; Steve Weberman,
Goode AZA; Brian Binder,
Rose AZA; Michael Wais,
Beber AZA; and Ted Efros,
Rose AZA. Beth Berman of
Erani BBG will lead the
BBG delegation as Council
president. Also attending
are Andrea Berk, Yachad
BBG, Windsor; Audrey
Levine, Rishonah BBG;
Julie Levenson, Aliyah
BBG; Gail Sulkes,
Rishonah BBG; Roberta
Mock, Yachad BBG,
Windsor; and Patti Koblin,
Aliyah BBG. -
Advisers are still being
sought for AZA and BBG
chapters in Oak Park,
Southfield, Livonia and
West Bloomfield. Anyone
interested should contact
